improving UX, elevating brand touchpoints
A Guest Experience Worth Celebrating with Pride
Project Overview
Whether the times are steady or uncertain, it’s always a good time to bring your closest customers even closer. That’s why we were inspired by Pride Mountain Vineyards’ idea to create an events application for exclusive use by their biggest brand ambassadors.
Pride is a storied winery straddling Napa and Sonoma, with stunning views and exceptional wines. Its fans are legion and loyal, and many of the winery’s most-ardent supporters join the Summit Circle, a members-only club that grants them first access to favorite wines and sought-after winery events. Pride designs its guest experiences to be as memorable (and delicious) as their celebrated vintages, so any work process that involves their guests must be exceptional.
Challenge
Pride’s Summit Circle member events are extra special and in high demand. When the winery reveals its annual schedule of member activities, a mad rush follows to secure available spots. Over the years, Pride realized the online reservation process was a hassle for members, and difficult for Pride’s staff to manage on the site’s back end as well.
The Pride team explored traditional events platforms, such as Eventbrite, but ruled them out because they didn’t offer the elevated experience and custom RSVP and waitlisting rules that Pride needed to keep its Summit Circle members happy.
Wanting a better answer, Pride approached our crew for help creating a tailor-made technology solution so its team could take care white glove care of their VIP clientele.
Solution
Our solution was to design and develop a custom events application for Pride that lives separately from the winery website’s MODX content management system. The special events app handles the following tasks:
- Houses and publishes content for approximately eight (8) annual events with designated attendance caps, based on the event type.
- Enables Summit Circle members to RSVP for individual events; join waitlists for at-capacity events; register additional guests for events; and share special information about their party, including dietary restrictions.
- Allows website editors to manage event capacity, as well as RSVPs and waitlists
- Triggers special communications to event attendees regarding their reservation status and payment details.
- Restricts access to Summit Circle members and their invited guests through a password-protected web portal.
Outcome
The bond between Pride and its customers is strong — and especially so during the magic of a Summit Circle event, and that magic now extends to the digital experience. Pride is already seeing a return on its investment. Director of Marketing Wendy Brooks says the transformation has been “nothing short of a miracle,” and one that removes the friction for guests trying to connect with a brand they love.
